Ronald Pena
practices in the areas of civil and commercial
litigation, with an emphasis on general liability
litigation as well as the defense of transportation
companies.
Mr.
Pena joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in December
2002. Previously he was a member of another
Miami law
firm where he defended transportation companies,
specifically in the trucking industry, in their
liability matters.
Mr. Pena is an adjunct professor at
Florida
International
University
where he teaches courses at the
School of
Policy and
Management. He is the 2006 vice president of the Dade
County Defense Bar Association, and will serve as its
president for 2007.
Mr. Pena’s professional memberships also include the
Dade County Bar Association, American Bar Association,
the Cuban American Bar Association and the Federalist
Society. He is an active member of the Lawyers
Professionalism and Ethics Committee of the Defense
Research Institute. In addition, Mr. Pena is a board
member of the Dade County Historical Society, which
involves education and preservation of the history of
the legal system in
Dade
County.
Mr. Pena is a member
of the Put Something Back Pro Bono Project, a
joint program by the Dade County Bar Association and the
Eleventh Judicial Circuit to provide free legal service
to the needy population of
Miami-Dade
County.
